RAGANR Great River Relay Winners from Central Wisconsin

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (August 21, 2010)

RE: RAGANR Great River Relay Winners from Central Wisconsin

A team of 12 master’s runners (all over 40 years old) sponsored by Revel Sports, a running store in Rothschild, WI www.RevelSports.com & Marshfield Clinic, won the Ragnar Great River Relay this past Saturday 8/21/2010. It was an epic battle over a grueling 193 miles form Winona MN along the Wisconsin side of the Mississippi and St. Croix rivers ending at Boom Island Park in Minneapolis.

306 teams started in waves with start times beginning at 8 am and continuing until 4 pm. Team Revel Sports /Marshfield Clinic started with the last group at 4 pm with the other top teams. The race lead changing frequently amongst the top team as the lead change frequently and an intense battle developed.

Running 193 miles in an overnight relay race the course divided into 36 legs, each team member runs three of those legs, ranging between 3 and 8 miles each. This relay race is physically demanding with little or no sleep.

The winner would not be decided until the last runner. The top three teams after over 20 plus hours of racing would be separated by only 7 minutes.

Each of the top 3 teams would win there respective categories as well.
