Inov-8 Bare-Grip 200

Inov-8’s™ impressive track record at the annual Out Door Show Awards continues with a Gold Industry Award for new Bare-grip™ 200.

This is the first Gold Award for inov-8™ but their third Out Door Show award in four years with the OROC™ orienteering shoe (2009) and H2Orizontal™ 2L Hydration System (2007) winning previously.

The Gold Award is only presented to the most innovative new products launched at the show and the judges were clearly impressed with the radical approach the bare-grip™ 200 takes to the unique challenges of off road running.

“The bare-grip™ 200 is an extraordinary off road running shoe. The midsole has been removed so that the user experiences the freedom and sensation of barefoot running but has superb grip and underfoot protection. Because the bare-grip™ 200 does not have a midsole, all the natural power and speed of the foot is transferred directly through the shoe. Also, because the foot is closer to the ground in a stable, low profile and natural position there is less chance of injury and the runner can sense and feel the ground under his feet. As there is no interference from the midsole or other superfluous technologies the user can experience pure running”.

Europe’s Fastest Trail Runner Race After a series of grueling heats and semi finals held throughout the show, inov-8’s™ Matt Brown (Product Designer) and Shane Ohly (Marketing Manager) found themselves lining up with the sponsored athletes from the major trail running brands in the final of the Out Door Show’s Europe’s Fastest Trail Runner competition. Proving that off road is lived and breathed at the heart of the company they achieved third and fourth place respectively.
